Developing Reactive Materials to Kill Deadly Chemical Agents NJIT

NJIT researchers are part of an alliance of scientists and engineers dedicated to reducing the threat posed by chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. One of the key aims of Purvam Gandhi, a Ph.D. student working under the guidance of Professor Ed Dreizin, is to engineer reactive materials that produce the optimum amount of heat, smoke and gas to kill chemical agents. The research alliance is lead by Johns Hopkins and sponsored by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, which is part of the U.S. Department of Defense.
