NJIT Research Targets “Forever Chemicals” NJIT
At NJIT, extensive research is underway focused on the environmental threat posed by PFAS — known as “forever chemicals” because of their strong chemical bonds. Notoriously hard to break down, PFAS chemicals persist in the environment. They make their way into water systems, soil and solid waste, and pose serious threats to human health. Our team worked with the university to produce a video highlighting several NJIT leaders developing technologies and launching startups to analyze, capture and destroy PFAS.
